Over the last two years I worked with Plátanomelón across a steady stream of content: Instagram reels, video editing, motion graphics and graphic design. The heart of it was Enseñamelones, their sexual-education video series: explainers that had to make practical, sometimes sensitive subjects feel clear, warm and easy to watch. The illustrations came from their team; my job was to bring them to life inside a brand language that already existed, matching a style rather than imposing one.
The pieces shown here are a selection — a slice of a much larger, ongoing body of work.
Process & Techniques
Working at that volume, the interesting problem isn't any single piece, it's doing many of them well, quickly, without the style drifting.
So I built a system for it. A template based on compositions driven by nulls, with properties animated through expressions, designed to move artwork cleanly between Illustrator and After Effects. Once the structure was in place, each new piece was less about rebuilding animation from scratch and more about feeding fresh illustrations through a pipeline that already knew how to move.
The result is consistency at speed: a recognisable style holding across dozens of pieces, produced fast enough to keep up with a brand that publishes constantly.
