Human Side On is Luback's 2026 album. As with everything I make for them, the work started long before any design: sitting with the lyrics, going back into the band's roots and the visual language they had already built, until the direction felt earned rather than invented.
The cover came out of a close back-and-forth with Lucía Arjona. We built a moodboard together and pushed ideas around until the concept was clear. From there Lucía designed the illustration, with both of us agreeing on the direction it should take; my part was the styling: the texture, the colour, the finish that ties it to the band's world.
Process & Techniches
The styling is done by hand. I work with brushes in Photoshop, painting texture and grain into the piece rather than laying it on top, so it reads as printed and physical instead of filtered. Where it helps, I automate the repetitive steps with actions and presets in filters, keeping the finish consistent across every piece without losing the handmade feel.
Singles & Spotify Canvases
Alongside the album I designed the covers for the three singles released from it: Mojo On, Time Flies and Strength, following the same process. The Spotify canvases went one step further: animated in After Effects and adapted to a vertical format, so the artwork moves in the feed.
